      Rob Dorans

The City of Columbus has converted a section of the Greater Columbus Convention Center into an alternative care center as part of proactive measures to cater for overflow patients recovering from COVID-19.

In a Facebook news feed post, Columbus City Councilmember Rob Dorans commended members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, IATSE Local 12 – Columbus, Ohio “for helping to prepare the Greater Columbus Convention Center for potential COVID-19 patients.”

“We all hope our local hospitals will have the resources needed to care for those that are ill, but these union members and others are working hard to make sure our community is prepared,” said Councilmember Rob Dorans.

Meanwhile, a formal presentation of the alternative care center will be performed by virtual press conference Tuesday, April 14, 2020 by Franklin County, the City of Columbus and multiple health partners.
