Columbus Offers Free Ring Doorbell In Porch Protection Program

The Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein’s Office is sponsoring the Porch Protection Program, a pilot initiative to enhance neighborhood safety, reduce package theft, and combat crime.

Through this program, eligible Columbus households can enter a lottery to receive a free Ring doorbell camera. The attached flyer provides full details, but here are the key qualifications to apply:

  1. Applicants must own their home OR have their landlord’s approval to install a camera-equipped doorbell.
  2. Income eligibility: Household income must not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level.
  3. Residency: Applicants must live in one of the qualifying ZIP codes:
    43201, 43204, 43207, 43211, 43219, 43223, 43224, 43228, 43229, or 43232.

Applications must be submitted by Monday, December 9, 2024. Selected recipients will be contacted the following week for pickup.
