As city officials, business, community, faith leaders and well-wishers converged weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the New Americans magazine, City of Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginter has called on electorates to use the opportunity of early voting to go cast their votes, assuring that no amount of intimidation should prevent them from exercising their civic duties.
Mayor Andrew Ginther who delivered the keynote address at the 10th Anniversary of the New Americans magazine said that “we are seeing the greatest turnout that we’ve ever seen in midterm elections. Right here in central Ohio, Franklin County, we are leading the way. We are almost approaching Presidential election turnout here in Franklin County.”
“There are those that are trying to scare, intimidate, threaten, and bully. But if those folks want to intimidate people in our community, they will have to come through me.”
“I want you to spread the message to everyone that you know that the City of Columbus in the State of Ohio will do everything in our power, regardless of what Donald Trump sends here, to make sure that every registered, eligible voter cast their ballots and make sure their ballots are counted,” said Mayor Ginther.
“Your vote is your voice. Nothing is more American than participation in our elections. The beauty of this democracy, what makes it so special and what makes this nation one of the greatest is that at the end of the day, the people decide. The people have the power. Your vote is your voice. The people of Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, Americans need to hear what you have to say.”
“Take your appropriate ID and all the information you need to participate. For those who have not voted, plan and vote early. It takes about 45 minutes. The weather looks spectacular. Columbus is on the rise and there is nothing, absolutely, that will stop us. We are just few days to the point of reckoning with midterm elections.”
Mayor Ginther congratulated the New Americans magazine for celebrating 10 years. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary I am already thinking of the future, and I am already thinking of the 20th anniversary.
