Columbus lady cries out for assistant to help brother in need of kidney transplants

Columbus, Ohio-based lady, Adetutu Alao has taken to GoFundMe to raise funds for her immediate junior brother (Muyiwa) in Nigeria who needs his two kidney transplants after she and the family have exhausted all they have financially to save the life of the brother.

In a GoFundMe appeal, Adetutu, who has borne much of the financial burden, since she lives abroad, narrated how the illness started in September 2022 and the discovery that the junior brother had developed kidney disease.  The doctors have recommended a kidney transplant which will cost between N20-25 million Naira.

“My name is Adetutu, and I am raising fund for my immediate younger brother back in Nigeria, Africa for a kidney transplant. The unpleasant journey started in September 2022 when he started falling sick consistently,” said Adetutu Alao.

“On the 3rd of December it was discovered that he had come down with severe high blood pressure. The high blood pressure was being managed until April 2023 when it became complicated and diagnostically discovered he had developed kidney disease. This was devastating for me, as at today December 2nd, 2023, his two kidneys are barely functioning with the latest result showing creatinine (serum)1080.05 urmol/L (53-115) estimated GFR(CKDEP)9.”

She said that “Since April of 2023 he has been on dialysis twice a week which has been extremely financially draining for the family. We have exhausted all we have, and doctors have recommended a kidney transplant which will cost between N20-25 million Naira.”

“We cannot afford this, and I couldn’t think of any other means to help save my brother’s life. My family and I appreciate you all as you help save a life.” Link
