Columbus Crew has advanced to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Eastern Conference Final after defeating Orlando 2 – 0 in extra time.
With a chance to reach their fourth MLS Cup final, the Crew will face the Cincinnati FC in the conference next week.
Ohioans have had their fair share of disappointment this weekend after the Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Michigan Wolverines.
Despite the Buckeye’s loss, the Columbus Crew’s success has been a huge source of pride for the state of Ohio, and their incredible run has kept hopes alive despite the recent disappointment.
“Congratulations Columbus Crew on tonight’s big win! We will be rooting for you next weekend,” Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said in a message on the victory.
