Early Voting for 2026 Primary Election Begins in Ohio

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has flagged off early in-person voting for the 2026 May 5th, primary election.

“Secure and accessible elections begin with preparation, and Ohio’s bipartisan officials have done the work to make that a reality,” said Secretary Frank LaRose.

“I encourage every eligible voter to visit VoteOhio.gov and make their voting plan.”

Secretary LaRose said that “voters looking to take advantage of early in-person or absentee voting can visit VoteOhio.gov for hours, locations and deadlines.”

“Ohioans interested in helping their friends and neighbors vote are encouraged to sign up to be a poll worker as soon as possible at VoteOhio.gov/BeAPollWorker,” he added.

Election Day is May 5th, and polls will be open from 6:30AM – 7:30PM.

Secretary LaRose said, “absentee ballots must be received by your county board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

“The Absentee and Early Voting Data Dashboard will be updated daily, giving Ohioans unprecedented transparency and allowing them to better analyze early voting trends and statistics.”
