Whitehall Tournament Showcases Youth Talent

By Irina Perry

On Satruday, April 4, 2026, the energy inside Rosemoore Middle School was undeniable as karate students, instructors, and families gathered for the 51st Karate Tournament hosted by Rick Moore. The event brought together multiple karate organizations from across the region, all united by a shared commitment to discipline, respect, and youth development.

Competitors of all ages took part in a variety of events, including kata (forms) and sparring (fighting), demonstrating not only their technical skills but also their focus, determination, and perseverance. Each performance reflected hours of training and the guidance of dedicated instructors who continue to shape the next generation through martial arts.

For years, Rick Moore has been a respected figure in the Whitehall community, known for creating opportunities where young people can grow both physically and mentally. This tournament was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of unity, culture, and mentorship.

One of the highlights of the event was the outstanding performance of students led by Robert Perry. His dedication to mentoring children was clearly evident as his students displayed confidence, discipline, and excellence on the mat. Their achievements stood as a reflection of his commitment to guiding youth toward success both inside and outside of competition.

Perry’s Media Production proudly supported the event by capturing powerful and memorable moments throughout the day. From the intensity of sparring matches to the quiet focus before stepping onto the mat, every detail was documented to create visual stories that will live on beyond the tournament. These captured moments will be transformed into collages and highlight reels, preserving the spirit of the event for families and the broader community.

As medals were awarded and participants celebrated their accomplishments, one thing became clear—this tournament was not only about winning. It was about building confidence, strengthening community ties, and inspiring young individuals to pursue excellence.

Events like the 51st Karate Tournament remind us that when communities come together, they create opportunities for growth, leadership, and lasting impact—one student, one match, and one moment at a time.
