The City of Columbus, Department of Neighborhood has announced the commencement of registration for the 2024 New American Leadership Academy, NALA cohort.
“We are pleased to share with you that the application for the 2024 New American Leadership Academy (NALA) cohort is now available,” said the Department of Neighborhood in a statement to the New Americans magazine.
NALA is an opportunity for New American professionals to foster their personal development by building knowledge in civic engagement, and discovering new ways to contribute to their respective communities and the city of Columbus at large.
Academy participants receive mentorship and professional development on topics including government, civic engagement, and strategic collaboration along with implicit bias training, public speaking, and conflict resolution and management.
“I strongly encourage Columbus residents to apply,” said Taiwo Akinlami, a member of the 2023 cohort.
Applications will be accepted now through November 17, 2023.
