Reynoldsburg hosts Diwali Festival Nov. 14

  • Also Ohio City of Dublin celebrates Diwali on Nov. 14 

Ohio City of Reynoldsburg will celebrate Diwali Festival on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the City Hall beginning 5p.m., following its recent recognition of the festival.

The City Council of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed a resolution recognizing the Diwali and Tihar festival declaring that it should be celebrated this year.

“I feel proud beyond limit that our city formally recognized this festival,” said Reynoldsburg City Councilmember Bhuwan Pyakurel.

“This is one of the best moments of my life and members of the community feel proud to see their festival being recognized by the city. Not only in Ohio but people across the country felt accepted by seeing this resolution.”

According to him, “One of the reasons used by the government of Bhutan in Asia was cultural cleansing. We were not allowed to celebrate our festival and practice our cultural norms.”

Also, Ohio City of Dublin residents will on Saturday, November 14, 2020 celebrate Diwali Festival  kicking off the celebration Thursday, November 12, 2020 by creating traditional Rangoli designs with chalk outside of the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC).
