Governor Mike DeWine opens Ohio State Fair July 24

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine will kick off the 166th Ohio State Fair on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 9 a.m. with remarks and a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair on 717 East 17th Avenue, Columbus. It closes on Sunday, August 4.

This will be followed by performances by the All-Ohio State Fair Band and Youth Choir.

At 11 a.m., Governor DeWine will join First Lady Fran DeWine in the Taste of Ohio Café, where Mrs. DeWine will be cooking with kids at the Ohio Proud Kitchen.

Ticket prices which starts from $6 for two adults may fluctuate, based on demand, at any time. Resale ticket prices may exceed face value.

Hours of operation

Admission gates: 9 am – 10 pm (Except Aug. 4, until 6 pm)

Commercial exhibit buildings: 10 am – 9 pm*

Youth Center: 9 am – 8 pm*

Janis Center: 8 am – 6 pm

Rides: 10 am – 11 pm** (open until midnight Fridays and Saturdays, **rides close at 10 pm on Sunday, Aug. 4)

Reentry is permitted each day with a hand stamp during the hours the gates are open.

Ride Prices

$25 – Ride-All-Day Wristband Vouchers (exchanged for a wristband at the Fair)*

$20 – Advanced Sale Ride-All-Day Wristband Vouchers (available through July 23 only)*

$1 tickets – Fairgoers can buy individual ride tickets for $1 each. All rides require 2 or more tickets.

*Midway Ride-All-Day wristband holders will be provided with “Boarding Passes” to be surrendered at each ride. Each Boarding Pass is valid for one ride when accompanied by a valid attached ride wristband.  Additional Boarding Passes can be obtained at the ticket booths for Midway Ride-All-Day wristband holders only.
