The City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods has announced its first annual Dan Charles Award Brunch under the theme, “Connecting Leaders. Inspiring Change. Creating Legacy.”
City of Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther will present the 2026 Dan Charles Award at the brunch on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Gallery at Champions golf course, located at 3900 Westerville Road, Columbus, Ohio.
This landmark community morning is dedicated to celebrating grassroots leadership, fostering citywide collaboration, and uplifting meaningful neighborhood impact.
Event Highlights:
- Mayor Andrew J. Ginther presents the 2026 Dan Charles Award. This centerpiece of the morning will honor an active Columbus community leader—Tara Mullins-Cosme of Ganthers Place. The award recognizes a resident who engages with diverse stakeholders, maintains a strong neighborhood vision, and drives transformative change through selfless community service.
- Keynote speaker: Kenston Henderson Sr. presents. Attendees will hear an inspiring address from Columbus-based global motivational speaker, author, and culture transformation champion Kenston Henderson Sr.
- Community networking and breakfast. Neighbors and civic-minded individuals will have the opportunity to exchange local insights, map out collaborative ideas, and build lasting partnerships over breakfast.
