The Rickenbacker Woods Foundation (RWF) has announced a public invitation to a special one-night-only event to view the iconic Spaghetti Warehouse Trolley on Tuesday, June 3rd from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at 6767 Huntley Road, Columbus, Ohio for a rare opportunity to step inside the historic trolley, snap photos, relive your memories, and meet Special Guest City Council President Shannon G. Hardin.
The iconic Spaghetti Warehouse Trolley is now preserved and on its journey toward becoming a living exhibit honoring Columbus’ own, inventor Granville T. Woods, known as the Black Father of Electricity.
This trolley, once tucked inside the beloved downtown Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant, was slated for destruction when the building was shuttered. But thanks to an outpouring of community support and swift action by the Rickenbacker Woods Foundation, it was rescued, relocated, and preserved for future generations.
“We heard you loud and clear,” said Michael Aaron, Executive Director of RWF.
“People across Columbus shared their stories, their memories—first dates, birthdays, family dinners inside this trolley. We knew we had to save it.”
Now, the Foundation is working to transform the trolley into a permanent storytelling space that will feature interactive exhibits on Granville T. Woods’ groundbreaking inventions, Columbus’s rich streetcar history, and the city’s role in early railway innovation. The trolley will also highlight the legacy of the Spaghetti Warehouse itself—where it once stood as a cherished dining car—and include QR-enabled technology to engage students and visitors through immersive, educational content.
“This isn’t just a trolley,” Aaron added. “It’s a symbol of community pride, innovation, and the untold stories that shaped our city.”
This is your chance to:
- Tour the trolley before it enters restoration
- Take photos and share your trolley memories
- Support the next phase of preservation and storytelling
