Members of the Columbus Veterans Soccer Club (CVSC) have been enjoined to make the 2025 Midwest Veterans Tournament a resounding success by massively showing up for all the games and side events. Columbus will host the tournament from Friday, May 23, to Sunday, May 25, 2025.
In an address before the tournament, Valentine Forcha, President of CVSC, reminded members that it is time for action, and they must execute the project they have spent months planning. “We all should remember that the Midwest Veterans Tournament, which Columbus is hosting, is a test of how we will perform at the National Veterans Tournament, and all eyes are on us,” Forcha wrote.
Though the event is just a stone’s throw away, the CVSC President reiterated the need to get more people in the community to attend the MVT. “Use your various social media platforms – Facebook, WhatsApp, X and others, to invite people, and why not make calls as well,” he writes further. To Forcha, CVSC will move mountains from a united front.
The anticipation for the 2025 Midwest Veterans Tournament is palpable. The tournament matches will be at Pathways Park, 4475 Sunbury Rd, Columbus, OH, 43219. Over two thousand people are expected to watch the games, a testament to the excitement and interest this event has generated.
The Midwest Veterans Tournament (MVT) comes three months before Columbus hosts the National Veterans Tournament (NVT), the bigger version of the competition. A dozen teams are set for the starting line, including Columbus Veterans Soccer Club, Chicago Veterans Football Club, Cin-Day Veterans Soccer Club, Windy City Veterans Football Club, Kansas City Veterans Football Club, WI Cheeseheads Veterans Soccer Club, Vet-Star Soccer Club, New Boys Veterans Football Club, Cleveland Area Veterans Soccer Club, Iowa Veterans Soccer Club, M’Muouck Youths Football Soccer Club, Michigan Veterans Soccer Club.
Created in 2023, the MVT is a regional soccer tournament that brings together veteran teams from across the Midwest, including states like Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois, as well as cities like Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Its creation was born from keeping the veteran soccer community active, connected, and competitive between editions of the larger National Veterans Tournament, the NVT.
