Even though Texas Christian University’s season came to a painful end Monday 31, 2025 with a loss to Texas, which prevented the program from reaching its first-ever Final Four, the team truly represents this season’s Cinderella narrative.
This season has been remarkable for the program, marking the first time in its history that it clinched the Big 12 regular season championship, won the conference tournament, and advanced to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight. Just two years ago, the team recorded an 8-23 record, but they now conclude the season with 34 victories.
Coach Mark Campbell commends Seniors Hailey Van Lift, Sedona Prince, Madison Conner, and Agnes Emma-Nnopu for the extraordinary journey they provided the program this season. For Lift, she becomes the first collegiate player to guide three different programs to the elite eight, starting with Louisville, then LSU, and now TCU.

Lift was overwhelmed with emotions post-game, expressing gratitude to her coaches and teammates while reflecting on her journey, particularly her ability to overcome personal challenges and discover new directions to find her purpose. The coach also highlighted that Lift leaves a lasting impression on the team and the community.
What the basketball world observed this season from TCU was a team that faced adversity but continuously got back up and fought hard, a spirit that enhances the program’s legacy beyond just their achievements on the court. The team has also inspired young girls in Fort Worth and nationwide, showing that dreams can become a reality for a minor program like the Horn Frogs when the correct elements come together.
Campbell mentioned that Horn Frogs fans will cherish this historic journey for years to come, and he hopes the team’s influence will attract top talent to the program, aiding in establishing a lasting legacy.
Concerning the game, the team left everything on the court, and despite the emotional aftermath, all fans, coaches, players, and staff will return home feeling proud and accomplished. Indeed, the team will receive a warm and heroic welcome upon their return to Fort Worth.
