Forty troopers have graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s 175th academy class. The class began September 9, 2024.
”Congratulations to the 175th Cadet Class. You have earned this moment, and I look forward to watching you continue to grow and serve with pride as part of the Ohio State Highway Patrol family,” said the Superintendent Colonel Charles A. Jones.

“It is my distinct honor to welcome you to today’s graduation ceremony of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s 175th Cadet Class.”
According to Colonel Charles Jones, “Since the Patrol’s foundation in 1933, we have remained steadfast in our mission to provide unbiased professional public safety services through inclusion, collaboration and innovation, and today, the 175th Cadet Class joins that legacy.

“This pivotal moment in their careers is the beginning of a life dedicated to leadership and Service with a Purpose. Though today’s ceremony honors their achievements, it is important to remember that each graduate has been shaped by more than just their training.
“One of the most important Core Values of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is Family.”
He said that “Life teaches us that family is defined by the ones that celebrate our successes and who we lean on during the most difficult times. To the families and friends of our graduates, your support and encouragement of these women and men has not gone unnoticed.
From the signing day events last September, through months of training, to today’s celebration of their achievement, your loved one has drawn strength from your support while they have shown the mental fortitude to persevere during this most arduous training.”

“As they take the next step in their careers, these troopers will continue to lean on you for guidance, especially during the challenging times. Continue to encourage them, reminding them that the path they chose is incredibly important – that the protection they provide saves lives.”
”This is an exciting day. The troopers are joining the most exciting organizations in the state,” said Andy Wilson, Director of Ohio Department of Public Safety.
”The service you provide to the citizens of this state is second to none. We appreciate you.”
