Reynoldsburg, affectionately known as “The Burg,” has transformed into a basketball capital of the world, buzzing with excitement and unity. As the Reynoldsburg High School Boys Raiders made history after advancing to their first-ever trip to the state championship game, the city rallied behind them, proudly waving their purple and white colors. The team’s jerseys, adorned with burgundy, purple, and white, symbolize solidarity and passionate love for the city, which embodies unity and purity.
As the community celebrates this milestone, Reynoldsburg shines as a beacon of basketball fervor, its name synonymous with school spirit, community pride, and a shared love for the game.

On March 8, 2025, the Raiders triumphed in a double-overtime thriller, winning 98-91 against Olentangy Liberty, marking their tenth consecutive victory and propelling them into the state semifinal.
On Sunday, March 16, the Burg Xavier McKinney’s last-second layup was one
historical moment that will be in the record books for sure after receiving an inbound pass to give the Raiders the 64-63 victory over West Lakota West to set up a Central Ohio Showdown with Olentangy Orange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, who took down Cleveland State in an overtime thriller. Both teams are about 35 minutes apart and will play in their first state title game at the University of Dayton Basketball Arena.
In the opening quarter, both teams battled closely, wrapping up that period with a score of 15-14 in favor of Burg. However, just before halftime, Lakota West improved its defensive and offensive strategies, taking a 15-11 lead in the second quarter.
During the third quarter, Burg enhanced their offensive and defensive play, allowing only 13 points while scoring from various positions to finish with 25 points for that quarter. In the final quarter, Lakota West rallied to keep the game competitive.
On Championship Day, the team, its fans, and the community will proudly showcase their colors, expressing their pride in their school and love for their city. This celebration will highlight that their support goes beyond just the school; it represents a city embodying unity and integrity.
Reynoldsburg came into the semifinal game having just lost one game the entire season, having a record of 25-1, and fast forward, there are now just one win away from winning its first OHSAA Division I state finals.
“The Raiders have displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the season, boasting a commendable overall record of 25-1 and an undefeated conference record of 14-0. The Reynoldsburg fan base has played a crucial role in energizing the team’s success, bringing enthusiasm and support at every game,” Tonya Kelly of Sportzkelz Media says.
“These young men are incredible! L��VE them Burg Boys! We are all tremendously proud of you. Let’s bring home the state championship. ��������,” a proud fan exclaimed. Congratulations to Coach Moore and his staff for their dedication and hard work,” another fan said.
