Celebrating 21st anniversary, the Columbus, Ohio-based socio-cultural organization, Yoruba Club 21 has donated household materials to the homeless sheltering at LSS Faith Mission, Grant Avenue, Columbus.
“During the visit on Thursday March 13, 2025, the Yoruba Club 21 donated needed toiletries in support of the homeless based at that location,” the President of the club Otunba Gbenga Sholesi told the New Americans magazine.
“This visitation is part of our program celebrating our 21st anniversary. The initiative is led by our founding president Dr. Tunde Olufade.”

Otunba Sholesi added that “the club will continue these initiatives in support of our local communities.”
Founded in 2003, the Yoruba Club 21, Columbus, Ohio is a socio-cultural organization of a select group of people of Yoruba descent, with majority from Nigeria. It is a non-political and non-religious organization.
Each year, LSS Faith Mission, a part of the LSS Network of Hope, provides more than 90,000 nights of shelter to men, women and veterans who are experiencing homelessness.
While the stereotypes are impossible to ignore, Faith Mission sees what homelessness and hunger truly look like, every day.
“Each client’s story is unique, but most often people come to us because they lack a support network of family or friends to withstand a personal calamity. They’re often people who live paycheck-to-paycheck that are experiencing job loss, illness, or divorce or change in relationship status. People come to Faith Mission for a chance to improve their lives.”

“It’s our mission to not only help people in need but to maintain their dignity in doing so. Restoring the lives of our clients often starts with helping to restore their self-respect.”
