Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) has officially joined the for the race 2026 governorship election.
“I’m officially running to be Ohio’s next governor,” said Attorney General Dave Yost.
“I’m honored to serve as your America First Attorney General and support President Trump’s agenda.”
Dave Yost said “With your help, we’ll move Ohio forward to a brighter future.”
Early in his career, Dave practiced law in Delaware, Ohio. He served as Prosecuting Attorney for Delaware County, and then was elected to statewide office as Ohio Auditor of State.
He was elected Ohio Attorney General in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, with more votes than any Attorney General in Ohio history.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dave is a musician and a proud member of Buckeye Nation. He and his wife, Darlene, reside in Columbus. They have three adult children and five grandchildren.
Also this month, former Ohio Director of Health Dr. Amy Acton bacame the first Ohioan to formally indicate interest in running for the Ohio State Governorship election in 2026.
