The management of Saraga International grocery store on Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio has described as false the social media post of the sighting of the officials of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the premises of the store.
“There is nothing like that,” said General Manager of the Sarage International Grocery,Medhi El-Khatib.
“I have been here since 7am and nothing like that happened either outside or inside the store. Our customers are being scared by the social media posts.”
A social media post that went viral warned customers that “ICE has been spotted on the North Side – Morse Rd area. They could be targeting international markets and shops like Saraga. I will be standing out front of Saraga tomorrow to pass out red cards and information on knowing your rights – if you know of any international markets or shops and can post up handing out red cards or information please do SO. This post is not here to incite fear or panic, but we have to stay vigilant and real about what is happening. Stand up for our community, we need each other.”
However, the to the website (https://www.ilrc.org/red -cards-tarjetas-rojas) was not found.
Medhi El-Khatib told New Americans magazine that “you can see for yourself that this place is peaceful and customers are coming in and going out.”
Meanwhile, the new border boss Tom Homan has disclosed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested hundreds of undocumented immigrants on the first full day of President Donald Trump‘s presidency.
Border Czar Tom Homan told Fox News Wednesday: “In the last 24 hours, ICE arrested over 308 serious criminals. Some of them were murderers. Some of them were rapists. Some of them raped a child.”
