Mark your calendars, everyone! Here comes the familiar fresh face of our nation, along with his strategic chess pieces, poised to make a move! America has decided that Former President Donald Trump has been officially confirmed as the nation’s 47th president. This marks a significant moment in American political history, and as we approach his inauguration on January 20, 2025, it is important to highlight several key dates that have/will shape the transition of power.

Deciding which chess players will approach the board. A recap of Epic Events that have already occurred:

**November 5, 2024:** Election Day took place, a pivotal moment when citizens across the country voted to select the next president and vice president. Polling places were bustling with activity as voters participated in this fundamental democratic process.

**December 11, 2024:** On this date, each state issued the Certificate of Ascertainment of Appointment of Electors. This document formally identifies the electors who were responsible for casting their votes for president and vice president, reflecting the outcomes of the general election held a month earlier.

**December 17, 2024:** Electors gathered in their respective state capitals to vote for president and vice president. This ceremony is crucial, as they sent the certified results to Washington, D.C., marking a significant step toward formalizing the election outcome.

**January 3, 2025:** The 119th Congress convened, where newly elected representatives and senators took the oath of office. This gathering signaled the restructuring of legislative power and the preparation for the upcoming administration.

With the chess members ready to take the board, here is what moves America can expect to happen next

Looking forward to events that are just days away. As the great nation stands to the ready with all attention towards what will happen next

**January 6, 2025:** In a highly anticipated joint session of Congress, lawmakers will count the electoral votes. The vice president will preside over this session, an event steeped in tradition, culminating in the official announcement of the electoral results.

**January 20, 2025:** The inauguration of the new president and vice president will take place at the U.S. Capitol at 12 p.m. ET. This significant event not only marks the official transfer of power but also embodies the democratic principles that the nation values. The inauguration is expected to attract global attention as it represents a pivotal moment in American political history.

Former President Donald Trump has been confirmed as the nation’s 47th president, and as we approach the inauguration, several key dates will be crucial in shaping the transition of power.

**Swearing-In Ceremony (12 p.m. ET):** The 60th Presidential Inauguration will be held at the United States Capitol. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) is responsible for planning and executing the inaugural activities, which include the swearing-in ceremony of the President and Vice President and a traditional inaugural luncheon that follows.

**Pass In Review (Inaugural Parade):** Following the inaugural ceremonies and the luncheon, the newly sworn-in president and vice president will proceed to the East Front steps of the Capitol to review military troops. They will then lead a procession featuring ceremonial military regiments, citizens’ groups, marching bands, and floats down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. The President, Vice President, their spouses, and special guests will observe the parade as it passes in front of the Presidential Reviewing Stand.
