The Nigerian community in Upper Arlington City, Ohio recently gathered to honor the late Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, former first lady of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and a former student of Valor Christian College, Columbus at a ceremony attended by Upper Arlington Mayor and Council President Ukeme Awakessien Jeter.
“Funerals have a way of reminding us to live our precious life fully,” said Mayor Jeter, who also ordered that flags be flown at half-mast in Upper Arlington City in honor of Mrs. Eno.
The late Mrs Eno was a student at the Valor Christian College in Columbus, where she earned a degree in Pastoral Leadership.
“We gathered to honor her life and share stories of her warm personality and servant’s heart,” according to Mayor Jeter whose birth place is Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Mayor Jeter is expected to visit Nigeria to bid the former first lady (57) her final farewell.
The husband and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno assumed the role of Governor on May 29, 2023.
