Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed Executive Order 2024-07D, directing Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program funding to initiatives that will assist struggling families, support children, and encourage workforce development, with ETSS Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services receiving $175,000.
“One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services in providing support services to eligible families in Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, and Union counties,” said Governor Mike DeWine.
The executive order distributes funds to the following agencies:
Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist The Brightside Project in providing resources and social-emotional development support to eligible children in Columbiana County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Center of Hope Family Services Inc. in providing academic, social, and emotional support to eligible children through the ELEVATE after-school program in Lucas County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Esperanza in providing services to address educational needs of the Hispanic community, including mentoring, family engagement, and postsecondary education in Cuyahoga County.
Up to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) will be used to assist Everlasting Covenant Ministries in providing case management, support resources, and temporary housing to those who are at risk of homelessness in Cuyahoga County.
Up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) will be used to assist Opportunity for Individual Change of Clark County in providing a workforce transition program to eligible high school students in Clark County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland in providing support services, such as job placement support and housing services, to eligible individuals in Cuyahoga County.
Up to One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000) will be used to assist The Hope Center in providing support services, such as meals and tutoring, to eligible children in Union County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Front Steps Housing and Services in providing housing and behavioral health services in Cuyahoga County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Chabad Center/LifeTown in supporting eligible students with special needs reach their educational goals in Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Jackson, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, and Union counties.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist South Side Hope Community Development Corporation in providing mentorship, personal development, and workforce development training to eligible families in Franklin County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist The Refuge in providing residential recovery services in Franklin County.
Up to One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) will be used to assist Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services in providing support services to eligible families in Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, and Union counties.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Her Story Inc. in providing recovery support and housing services to eligible women in Greene, Clark, Franklin, Hamilton, Madison, and Montgomery counties.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Ohio Hispanic Coalition in providing workforce development training in Franklin County.
Up to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) will be used to assist Pipeline to God Communications in providing academic development and social-emotional skills for youth, Grades 3-8, to decrease the high school dropout rate and increase post-secondary education enrollment in Cuyahoga County.
Up to Seventy-Two Thousand Dollars ($72,000) will be used to assist Catholic Social Services of Columbus in providing individualized assistance and emergency financial assistance to eligible students in Franklin County.
Up to Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) will be used to assist Elizabeth’s New Life Center to decrease infant mortality by providing pregnancy care to eligible mothers in Hamilton, Montgomery, Shelby, and Warren counties.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist RLB Ministries/Backpack Buddies in providing food assistance to eligible youth in Lawrence County.
Up to One Hundred Ninety-One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Dollars ($191,680) will be used to assist Pathway Inc. in providing family support service programs in Lucas County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Providence House in providing family preservation and crisis intervention services in Cuyahoga County.
Up to One Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,250,000) will be used to assist After-School All-Stars in providing after-school enrichment programs to eligible children in Franklin and Lucas counties.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Truly Reaching You in providing housing and support services to eligible individuals in Summit County.
Up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) will be used to assist Community Shelter Board in providing homelessness prevention programs to eligible pregnant women in Franklin County.
Up to Four Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($430,000) will be used to assist Coats for Kids, Cleveland in providing new coats and shoes to eligible children in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain counties.
Up to Nine Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($935,000) will be used to assist Operation Warm in providing new coats and shoes to eligible children statewide.
Up to Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) will be used to assist Ohio Association of Foodbanks in providing summertime food assistance to eligible children statewide.
Up to Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) will be used to assist Choosing Hope Adoptions in providing parenting education and resources to new and expecting parents in Clark, Greene, Butler, Hamilton, Warren, Montgomery, Franklin, Jefferson, Allen, Mercer, Licking, Delaware, Champaign, Miami, Clinton, Pickaway, Fairfield, and Clermont counties.
Up to One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) will be used to assist Ohio Suicide Prevention in providing suicide prevention resources and strategies to eligible families in Franklin, Butler, Clermont, Cuyahoga, Erie, Gallia, Greene, Hamilton, Hocking, Jackson, Licking, Lorain, Lucas, Mahoning, Marion, Meigs, Montgomery, Morgan, Stark, Summit, Washington, and Wayne counties.
Up to Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) will be used to assist The Word Church in providing support services, such as food assistance and personal development training, to eligible families in Cuyahoga County.
Up to One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) will be used to assist Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs in providing support services to eligible youth at the following clubs: West Chester/Liberty, Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Massillon, Youngstown, Wooster, Central Ohio, Northeast Ohio, Toledo, and Washington County.
