Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted has described the process of voting in Ohio State as easy, as voters have the rest of the month to cast their votes for their candidates in the state’s early voting period.
“The process is easy. It is easy to vote in Ohio State. That is the way we love it here. Make your voice heard. Basically, we have the rest of the month to vote. I will encourage people to go out to vote,” Lt. Governor Jon Husted said while casting his vote at the Franklin County Board of Election as early voting kicked off Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Recounting his experience during the voting process, Lt. Husted said, “It was very smooth. We have a great system of elections in Ohio. We are very proud of that. It is bipartisan. Democrats and Republicans are here monitoring the situation to ensure everything ends well.”
“We are ready, and battle tested.”
Also, spokesperson for the Franklin County Board of Elections, Aaron Sellers told the New Americans magazine that “there are a lot of improvement in processing time this year. We have 150 voting booths and we can process a thousand people in one hour.”
Absentee voting, both in-person and by mail, began Tuesday, October 8, 2024 for the November 5, 2024 General Election.

“As of today, 117,000 absentee ballots have been requested in Franklin County. Those absentee ballots will be delivered to the post office today to coincide with the first day of early voting. Completed absentee ballots by mail must be returned to the Franklin County Board of Elections office no later than 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5,” said Aaron Sellers.
This election voters will have the opportunity to vote on US President, US Senate, US House of Representatives, Ohio General Assembly, Franklin County offices, Ohio Supreme Court, Ohio Court of Appeals, Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, a state issue, local questions and issues.
Below are the in-person voting hours that Franklin County registered voters can vote at 1700 Morse Road, Columbus:
– Weekdays, October 8 through October 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
– Monday, October 21 through October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
– Saturday, October 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
– Sunday, October 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
– Monday, October 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
– Tuesday, October 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. *Last Day to Request Absentee Ballots
– Wednesday, October 30 through Friday, November 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
– Saturday, November 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
– Sunday, November 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Registered voters can view their sample ballot by visiting our website at http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov. Absentee applications are available online and at public libraries or by calling the Board of Elections at (614) 525-3470.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
