The final day of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is Sunday, August 11, with 13 gold medals still up for grabs across various sports. The last day of competition promises to be exciting, culminating in the Closing Ceremony at the Stade de France.

The women’s marathon kicks off the day’s events at 8 am, marking the conclusion of the athletics program. This event holds special significance, celebrating women in honor of the historic Women’s March on Versailles.

At the Bercy Arena, the women’s basketball final takes center stage at 3:30 pm, with Team USA taking on host country France, aiming for their eighth consecutive title.

In track cycling, the men’s keirin final at 1:32 pm will see a new champion crowned following Jason Kenny’s retirement. British riders have dominated this event since Beijing 2008, but Colombia’s Kevin Quintero, theThThe reigning world champion is a strong contender.

The Closing Ceremony will bring the curtain down on Paris 2024, featuring a handover to Los Angeles 2028 and extinguishing the Olympic Cauldron.

China currently leads the US in gold medals, 39-38. However, Team USA dominates in silver medals with 42 and bronze with 42, bringing their total medal count to 122. China follows with a total of 90 medals.

As the Olympic Games close, attention will shift to the Paralympic Games, opening on August 28, and the next Olympic Winter Games, Milano Cortina 2026, in just over a year.
