A first-generation American and immigrant from Albania, Sharrah’s unique perspective is shaped by her experiences growing up under communism and witnessing her country’s transformation. “She says, “I am a first-generation American who grew up in post-communist Albania and witnessed the consequences of failed political dialogue. I have overcome persecution and tragic losses during the communist regime, and I know first-hand the devastation of a dictatorial society.

Sharrah, inspired by her father’s legacy as their hometown’s first democratically elected mayor, is driven by a desire to make a positive impact. As a resident of District 16, she is attuned to the pressing issues facing her community.
Leveraging her 15 years of private sector experience in technology, finance, and IT, Sharrah has detailed plans to tackle critical concerns like housing, workforce development, and childcare. Furthermore, she has a master’s degree in International Negotiation and Policy Making from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.
She recognizes the need for affordable housing options and aims to work with city governments to increase availability and accessibility for first-time homebuyers. Sharrah also emphasizes the importance of adapting to the rise of artificial intelligence by developing a workforce that can thrive in changing times.
She proposes creating education curriculums focused on the future and leveraging human experience.
