In the heart of Columbus, a remarkable woman with a courageous past and a compassionate heart has brought to life a vision that has touched the lives of thousands. Nicole Coles Carter, a former US Army Veteran, has dedicated the last decade to creating the “All Disabilities Festival” to provide support and solidarity to families with members living with disabilities, both young and old.
What began as a small idea has blossomed into a thriving event, thanks to the community’s unwavering support, local organizations, and passionate individuals. The All Disabilities Festival, a testament to the power of unity and compassion, has become a beacon of hope and empowerment for those facing challenges due to disabilities. Its profound impact on the community and individuals with disabilities is a source of immense pride and inspiration, demonstrating that collective effort can bring about significant and positive change.

The All Disabilities Festival is a celebration and a platform for showcasing the incredible talents and abilities of individuals with disabilities. From performances by talented artists with autism to demonstrations of assistive technologies, the event offers a wealth of resources and information to empower attendees and enrich their festival experience. It is a testament to the resilience and strength of those with disabilities, inspiring all who attend and leaving them with a profound sense of enrichment and upliftment.
Nicole Carter’s vision for the festival was inspired by her son’s disability, prompting her to create a space where families can feel supported and understood. The festival’s logo, a puzzle representing her son, symbolizes the diverse range of disabilities and the unique strengths of individuals with disabilities. Through this representation, Nicole found the courage to face her challenges and seek the support she needed to navigate daily life.
The All Disabilities Festival is more than just a gathering; it is a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion. It is a powerful reminder that our differences do not define us but unite us in our shared humanity. On July 14, 2024, as the festival marks its tenth anniversary at the Dorrian Green Park in front of the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), it continues to inspire and uplift, leaving attendees with a profound sense of value and inclusion in a community that embraces and celebrates their unique abilities, making them feel deeply included and valued.
Guests enjoyed complimentary treats and engaging activities, such as a scavenger hunt and live performances by skilled artists. The day was filled with music, laughter, and joy as attendees came together to celebrate the spirit of unity and support that defines the All Disabilities Festival.
Marshall Troxell presented a proclamation on behalf of Mayor Andrew Ginther to Nicole Coles Carter to commemorate the 10th Annual Columbus All Disabilities Festival. Carter is also the founder of Unlimited Possibilities for All Disabilities.
In a world filled with challenges and obstacles, the All Disabilities Festival stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us of the power of community and compassion in creating a more inclusive and supportive society. Nicole Coles Carter’s vision has touched the lives of thousands and illuminated a path toward a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
