The David Tolani Foundation gave out Christmas gifts of Nike basketball shoes from great players like Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Steph Curry to 24 kids from grades 1-8 Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio.
“The Christmas gifts were part of the annual basketball shoe giveaway by the David Tolani Foundation.
“David loved God passionately, loved his family affectionately, loved people indiscriminately, and his love for basketball was fierce. He loved his basketball hero, Kyrie Irving, and wanted to spread God’s love through basketball in the NBA one day,” said Sam King, coordinator of the event.
“Even though he left this terrestrial world unexpectedly, the foundation has continued to honor his memory through annual Summer Basketball camps and basketball shoe giveaways at Christmas.
We hope that in years to come, some of these kids will be basketball greats, spreading love to humanity, and thereby realizing David’s dream.”
Describing it as “A Life that Keeps Giving” Sam King expressed appreciation to “the entire Tree of Life Christian Schools for partnering with the foundation all these years. A huge shout out to Angie, Yohana, Judy (David’s principal), and others for facilitating the events. Huge thanks to the Tree of Life superintendent, Dr. Todd Marrah for praying for the Tolanis. Thanks to all the Felbry College staff and friends who graced the occasion.”
“We pray for God’s continuous grace for David’s family and friends all around the world as we continue to honor the memory of this amazing and unusual boy whom we were privileged to know intimately.”
