Little Amal, a puppet that has become an international symbol of compassion and of human rights, especially for displaced children in the world, will be visiting three cities in Ohio, including Columbus, Cincinnati and Akron on Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23 as part of its 6,000 miles journey across the United States in one of the largest free public festivals ever created.
More than 35 towns and cities from Boston to San Diego and 1,000+ artists and arts organizations have created 100+ events to welcome her between 7 September and 5 November 2023.
The 12- foot puppet of a 10 year old Syrian refugee girl, who has travelled over 9,000km to 15 countries with her message of hope and solidarity for displaced people everywhere will be at the Genoa Park, Columbus, on Friday September 22, 2023, beginning 6pm.
The event in Columbus is made possible by the partnership of Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), City of Columbus – Office of the Mayor, City of Columbus – City Council, US Together, Welcoming City, Bell Tree Productions and Zen Genius.
Little Amal will visit Cincinnati at 3pm on September 22 at the Heritage Bank Center Plaza, before heading to Columbus and will end the Ohio visit in Akron on Saturday, September 23 at Waters Park beginning at 2pm.

Little Amal has become an international symbol of compassion and of human rights. She carries a message of hope for displaced people everywhere, especially children who have been separated from their families.
The puppet of Little Amal was designed and built by Handspring Puppet Company, who created the puppets for the international hit play War Horse, establishing them as one of the most important puppet companies in the world.
Everywhere Amal goes she is greeted with events that are authentic and meaningful to the local people she meets.
So far, she has visited 15 countries including Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, the UK, the United States, Poland, Ukraine, Canada, and Norway.
