The Vice President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas, Hon. Minerva Grant has stressed the importance of unity in Liberia and the diaspora as the force that can propel advancement and development in the face of adversity.
“Unity is the key that unlocks our true potential as a nation, a community, and as a people. It is the force that propels us forward, even in the face of adversity,” Hon. Minerva Grant said at the celebration of the 176th Liberia Independence Day by the Liberian Association of Arizona.
The Liberian Association of Arizona marked Liberia’s 176th marked Liberia’s 176th Independence Day with enthusiasm and pride, and this year’s celebrations were made even more special with the presence of the National Vice President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), Hon. Minerva Grant.
The event, held on July 29, 2023, saw members of the Liberian community in Arizona coming together to honor their country’s independence and rich heritage.
As a guest speaker, Vice President Minerva Grant delivered a compelling address on the significance of Unity, Inclusivity, and collaboration.
Vice President Grant also reminded the audience of the challenges Liberia has faced over the years, from civil unrest to economic setbacks, and highlighted how the power of unity has guided the nation through difficult times.
Encouraging inclusivity and collaboration, she called on Liberians in Arizona and across America to set aside personal agendas and unite for the greater good. “Let us build a Liberia that future generations will be proud to call home,” she concluded.
For his part, Hon. Steve Bolay, the President of the Liberian Association of Arizona, expressed his excitement and appreciation for the presence of the ULAA Vice President at the celebrations.
He conveyed his gratitude for the outstanding work that the leadership of ULAA has accomplished, recognizing their dedication to the welfare of Liberians in the diaspora.
Furthermore, President Bolay shared his anticipation for continued collaboration with the ULAA team, emphasizing their joint commitment to the betterment of the Liberian people living outside their homeland.
The participation of the ULAA National Vice President at the Liberian Association of Arizona’s Independence Day celebrations serves as a symbol of solidarity, bridging the geographical distance between Liberians in different states and strengthening a sense of unity within the diaspora community.
