The Franklin County Board of Elections, Ohio has certified six candidates and issues for the May 2, 2023 Primary/Special Election.
“Only two communities, the City of Gahanna and the City of Hilliard will have candidates on the ballot to vote on for the May 2 Primary/Special Election,” said Aaron Sellers, spokesperson for the Franklin County Board of Election.
“A total of 6 candidates and 14 local options throughout the county were certified to the May ballot. Another 43 candidates were also certified to the November 7, 2023 General Election.”
He revealed that “the Board of Elections checked over 30,000 signatures in the petition process.”
Voters in the below precincts in Franklin County will have local options on the ballot to decide.
• Blendon-D
• Columbus 13-A
• Columbus 21-D
• Columbus 29-C
• Dublin 2-B
• Grove City 1-A
• Grove City 5-A
• Hilliard 4-A
• New Albany-E
• Westerville 1-D
“Voters not in the above-mentioned cities and precincts will not have any candidates or issues to vote on for the May 2 Primary/Special Election, meaning their voting location will not be open to voters. The next opportunity for these registered voters to vote will be the next General Election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023,” he said.
Columbus City Mayor Andrew Ginther will be running for another term in the November 7, 2023 elections.
The candidates on the May ballot include Steve Browne (N/A) CITY OF GAHANNA MAYOR GAHANNA, Laurie A. Jadwin (N/A) CITY OF GAHANNA MAYOR GAHANNA, Peter Marsh Republican CITY OF HILLIARD COUNCIL MEMBER HILLIARD, Greg St. Clair Republican CITY OF HILLIARD COUNCIL MEMBER HILLIARD, Omar Tarazi Republican CITY OF HILLIARD COUNCIL MEMBER HILLIARD and JT Ysseldyke Republican CITY OF HILLIARD COUNCIL MEMBER HILLIARD.
